1947 Birth of the Sendai UNESCO Association in Japan (The first UNESCO Association in the world)
1951 Japan admitted to UNESCO
1954 Foundation of the Meguro UNESCO Association
2014 Meguro UNESCO Association celebrates its 60th anniversary

Our Objectives

The Meguro UNESCO Association, with support from the Meguro City Board of Education, is compliant with the Japanese law concerning UNESCO activities. The Association launches a variety of volunteer activities to realize UNESCO's spirit of peace in the local community through education, science, culture and communication.

About Us

As at the end of 2015, more than 340 regular members,and 130 foreign members, take part in various volunteer activities.
